Kids Win Cash! Omemee Lions Family Fishing Event!
Omemee Lions kicking off Ontario Family Fishing Week with a Kids’ Bass Fishing contest on Saturday July 2nd, during Omemee Pioneer Days, will find kids lining up to weigh in their catch at Omemee Ace Hardware in hopes of winning cash and prizes.Don’t Fish? Even You Could Win!
Omemee Lions have donated cash prizes, for the biggest Bass catches of the morning, and there is even a colouring contest, so all kids have a chance at winning prizes.‘Omemee and District Lions are sponsoring three cash prizes,’explained Lion Sam Pittman,this year’s contest organizer, adding,’first prize is $25,second-$15,and third $10.’
In addition to cash prizes, Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, has donated a variety of lures and other fun gifts. Even non-anglers can win prizes, by entering the OFFW colouring draw. Ontario Family Fishing (OFFW) events make it easy to try fishing in Ontario waters for the first time, or the first time in a long time. Twice a year, the government of Ontario designates several days during which Canadian residents can fish license-free in any water body where fishing is allowed. This year, July 2-10, 2011 is designated as the summer OFFW license-free fishing days. During all other periods, most Canadian residents between the ages of 18 and 64 years must purchase an OUTDOORS card and a fishing license to legally fish in Ontario.
