Windy Weather Causes Road Hazards!

Police are reminding the motoring public that debris may be on some highways within the region, due to high wind conditions. Please increase time and distance between vehicles so that avoiding this debris can be done safely.

If traffic control systems are not functioning, because of an interruption of power or a malfunction, then these intersections are to be treated as a 4 way stop intersection. The vehicle on the right has the right-of-way,and should be allowed to go first. Please use caution when traveling through these intersections when the traffic control system is not functioning.

To date police have not had any reports of significant damage caused by the wind and there are no reported traffic control systems not operating.
