Police Execute Drug Warrant Following Teen Overdoses
following three recent Lindsay teen overdoses, Kawartha Lakes Police Service executed a drug warrant at a King Street residence yesterday evening at 7:20 pm resulting in the seizure of 'designer' or 'chemical' drugs.
Members of the drug enforcement branch initiated an investigation into the use of designer drugs after three Lindsay teens were admitted to the Ross Memorial Hospital this past week for drug overdose.
The investigation into the source and use of these drugs resulted in a search warrant being executed last evening at a King Street residence.
Officers were successful in the seizure of a prohibited expandable baton, approximately $2000 worth of ecstasy, along with a small quantity of cocaine and marihuana.
Two Lindsay Young Adults Charged
20 year old Zachary EMMONS and 22 year old Skyler BALDWIN, both of Lindsay were arrested and will appear in court on August 30th.
Mr. Emmons has been charged with possession on a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (ecstasy), possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace.
Mr. Baldwin has been charged with possession of a controlled substance (cannabis marihuana) and failing to comply with an order of probation.
