Deer Derails Suspended Driver - Oh Deer!

SUSPENDED DRIVER CHARGED

A single vehicle collision resulted in the driver being charged with an offence under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA). November 10, 2012 an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP attended a single vehicle collision on Highway 35 near Boundary Road in the former Manvers Township.

The vehicle had swerved to avoid a deer and struck the guard rail. Investigation revealed that the driver was suspended from driving under the HTA.

As a result, Aaron DELMONTE, 26 years of age, of Oakville, was charged with driving while suspended. The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay on January 8, 2013.
