4th Line Theatre’s 2013 Artist Talk series continues Sunday April 7th with Artistic Producer Kim Blackwell in a fun and wide-ranging conversation with Founding Artistic Director, Robert Winslow. Using a format similar to Bravo TV’s Inside the Actors Studio, Blackwell’s one-on-one far ranging interview will delve into Winslow’s long career in theatre, the founding of 4th Line Theatre and many of the backstage secrets and anecdotes that even long-time 4th Line Theatre patrons would be surprised to learn.'I’m excited to sit down with Robert and discuss his life and his career as a playwright, director, Artistic Director and historical researcher' stated Blackwell, adding 'This is an exciting opportunity to learn new things about someone you thought you knew all about.'Peterborough Museum & Archives will host this event on Sunday, April 7th at 2 pm and seating is limited. Who is Robert Winslow?
As one of Canada’s leading theatre artists, Winslow has written or co-written 14 of the original plays based on regional history that have been presented at 4th Line Theatre since founding the theatre in 1992. He has directed the majority of the productions and performed in several of them. He oversees all of the artistic activities including the new play development program and spends a great deal of his creative time researching and creating new work.4TH LINE THEATRE from Page on Vimeo.

An established theatre artist, Winslow has been involved in theatre for over 30 years as playwright, actor, director and artistic director. Winslow's stage credits include performances in theatres across Canada, the U.S. and Britain since 1982, including the Blyth Festival, Edmonton’s Theatre Network, the Cincinnati Playhouse, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Tuffnell Park Theatre in London, England.
Winslow’s numerous awards include the Queen’s Jubilee Medal, the J. Hampden Burnham Heritage Award, induction into the Peterborough and District Pathway of Fame and a Chalmers Arts Fellowship from the Ontario Arts Council. He has Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto and for the past 13 years he has taught a theatre workshop course at Trent University.
Who is Kim Blackwell?
Blackwell has directed sold-out 4th Line Theatre productions such St. Francis of Millbrook, Queen Marie, The Berlin Blues, The Right Road to Pontypool, Schoolhouse, The Art of Silent Killing and many more. This season, her 19th at the theatre, she will direct The Real McCoy by Andrew Moodie. Blackwell also directed a sold-out run of Freedom 85! in the 2008 Fringe Festival; and at the 2009 New York City Frigid Festival where it received critical attention, the Audience Choice Award and the See It Twice Award.
