Omemee Curling Club Last Chance Bonspiel Fun!
Adapted from Omemee Curling Club Facebook Wall
The spirit of the 1950s was alive at the Omemee Curling Club, as they saw curlers dressed in poodle skirts, rolled up jeans, leather jackets, and even some formalwear. Team Casselman and Team Harrison - pictured below, won the Best Costume prizes, receiving the most votes from their fellow curlers. The day also saw many participate in a hula hoop contest, a bubble gum blowing contest, and a 1950's memory game. Congratulations to everyone who won prizes in those contests.
Omemee Fun 50's Bonspeil Rules Present Challenges
The curling games themselves were not without some twists for the participants. Curlers played one game with different challenges for each end, including one end with no sweeping. The second game was a tumbleweed, allowing each curler to experience all the positions in one game. Even with the extra challenges, there were some great shots made and some very close games. Thanks to all the participants for coming out! We hope everyone had a great time! Congratulations to the winners: Draw 1 - Team French Draw 2 - Team Montgomery (Overall Winner)
