Kawartha Lakes Mayor Ric McGee Issues Ottawa Shooting Statement
October 22, 2014 Corporal Nathan Cirillo was shot, while he was on duty at Canada's National War Memorial. City of Kawartha Lakes Mayor Ric McGee issued the following statement.:Statement on Wednesday’s tragic events in Ottawa
On behalf of the residents, Council and staff of Kawartha Lakes our thoughts and prayers are with Corporal Nathan Cirillo, the soldier who tragically lost his life after being shot at the National War Memorial yesterday. Our most sincere condolences are extended to Corporal Cirillo's family and friends in the wake of this senseless act.We remain confident that all persons responsible for perpetrating this hideous crime will be brought to justice for their actions before the Canadian people.
God bless the men and women that put themselves in harm's way to protect our freedoms and this great country.
