NDP Petition - PM Harper Take Action on Violence Against Women
from Mylène Freeman Official Opposition Critic for Status of Women CanadaDid you know that over half of Canadian women will experience violence at some point in their lives?
But instead of taking action, Stephen Harper is taking us backwards.
His Conservatives have cut programs that women rely on – and they’ve refused to fund groups that advocate for women.
Sunday, March 8th is International Women’s Day – and the world is calling for action on this issue and more.
We’re adding our voice, and renewing the call to end violence against women. Join us by demanding Stephen Harper commit to ending violence against women. Add your name here – and get the word out by sharing with your friends:
The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day is “Make It Happen.”
Tom Mulcair and our NDP team are working hard to end violence against women – and we’re calling on Stephen Harper to help make it happen. It starts with:
- A comprehensive plan to address violence against women;
- An inquiry into missing and murdered Indigenous women; and
- Action to improve services and ensure pay equity.
Thanks, Mylène
