OPP STOP PURSUIT FOR PUBLIC SAFETY
Suspect Arrested!
Ontario Provincial Police has arrested a male party in relation to a residential break and enter that led to a pursuit.
May 24, 2012 officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP along with the OPP’s Central Region Support Team and Durham Regional Police Service pursued a suspect vehicle after it was observed departing a residential break and enter.
The suspect vehicle failed to stop for police, and a pursuit ensued north-bound on Highway 35 within the City of Kawartha Lakes. The pursuit was terminated for public safety reasons. However, the suspect was located a short time later in the Oshawa area, and subsequently arrested.
As a result of the investigation Robert RUSHNELL, 31 years of age, of Blackstock, is charged with the following offences:
• Break and Enter
• Dangerous Driving
• Flight From Police
• Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident
• Breach of Probation
