GREGORY WINGER WHITBY FACES NUMEROUS CHARGES
(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) –A traffic stop conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in the driver facing numerous charges. On February 17, 2013 an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway 35 near Edgewood Road, in the former Manvers Township.During the investigation the officer determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol. As a result of the investigation Gregory WINGER, 50 years of age, of Whitby, was charged with driving while having more than 80mgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood contrary to the Criminal Code and with speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
Further investigation revealed that Mr. WINGER was a suspended driver and he was subsequently charged with two counts of driving while suspended, contrary to the HTA. The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on March 7, 2013.
