The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) flood warning for the Gull River, Burnt River and Irondale River watersheds is in effect until Monday, April 22.
Two more roads have been added to the closed roads list:  Brooks Lane and Birch Lane off Chisholm Trail north of Sebright in the Black River watershed.
Firefighters and public works staff continue to sandbag today. Sandbags are available at the Burnt River Depot and the Coboconk Depot. Sand and sandbags will also be available at the end of affected roads.

Burnt River Evacuation Advisory

The fire department, along with the OPP, have been conducting a recheck of all residents in the flood area by boat and some people have chosen to evacuate. The Burnt River Community Centre remains open and the Red Cross is on site. Seasonal residents are advised to stay away. Those who may be in the area are encouraged to return to their primary residence.  Anyone needing assistance with evacuation should contact the municipality's After Hours Emergency line at 1-877-885-7337. If you feel in immediate danger at any time please call 911.

Boil Water Advisory Continues

The Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit (HKPR) advises that residents on well water affected by flooding should boil water for one minute at a rolling boil or obtain alternate potable water.

Volunteer Offers Appreciated

While volunteer offers are appreciated, Communications Officer Brenda Stonehouse says,
'We're ok right now - our public works staff and firefighters have been able to keep up. Please thank them very much for their offer of assistance - we will let people know if we need help as things progress!'
