SPEEDING VEHICLE STOPPED MARIHUANA SEIZED
An Omemee resident speeding on Mount Horeb Road faces speed and posession charges.A recent vehicle stop conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in a small quantity of marihuana being seized. On April 18, 2013 an OPP officer stopped a vehicle for speeding on Mount Horeb Road in the former Emily Township. The officer approached the vehicle and determined that there was marihuana present. As a result of the investigation the driver, Allysha MCDONALD, 19 years of age, of Omemee, was charged with speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The officer seized 1.3 grams of marihuana and MCDONALD was subsequently charged with possession of a controlled substance, under 30 grams, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on May 23, 2013.
