Kawartha Lakes Public Library has been celebrating Ontario Public Library Week with the theme “Libraries Inspire”. Ontario Public Library Week has become the annual focus for promoting and recognising public library service in the province. First introduced in 1985, Ontario Public Library Week provides a focus to reflect on the important contribution public libraries make to the quality of life and economic health of their communities through their role in providing access to all types of information in every kind of format. Did you know you can even borrow books, movies and magazines electronically?

Kawartha Lakes Libraries Offers Fine Forgiveness

Have library fines? Short on cash? Dig through your cupboards! Kawartha Lakes Public Library is partnering with Kawartha Lakes Food Source once again to offer their annual “Food for Fines”program. Library patrons may pay their library overdue fines with donations of non-perishable food items during Ontario Public Library Week at any Library branch. Even if you don't have library fines, take along some items for the food bank, and join in the celebration.

Kawartha Lakes Ontario Library Week Ends with Special Events!

Numerous special events are planned for Kawartha Lakes Libraries on October 25th including two events at Dunsford Library. Dunsford Library will host a “Drop-In Halloween Craft and Story” between 10 am – 1 pm at 26 Community Centre Road and “Woolley Wonderland Farm” at 11 am.
