Omemee Student Receives Radio Air Time

Trent Radio Host Dr. Zobel Invites Scott Young Student

Elizabeth Sholer experienced the luck of the Irish today. A chance encounter a Trent Radio a few weeks ago had Elizabeth Sholer, from Scott Young Public School , on Trent Radio 92.7 FM this morning at 11:30 a.m talking with Dr. Alicja Zobel about Health and Nature.
This morning on Trent Radio, Dr. Zobel , founder of the International Allelopathy Society, publicly launched a new initiative: Garden Farmacies for Healthy Living. Garden Farmacies for Healthy Living includes an intergenerational student educational outreach program encouraging young people to take charge of their health by learning about ecologically growing medicinal plants that can improve their health.

Elizabeth was inspired to create SEEDS (Student Environmental Ecological Decision Society) after meeting Dr. Zobel and learning about how different plants do things to help keep our bodies healthy, and how growing plants can help reduce our environmental footprint. SEEDS aims include: learning a plant a week, promoting Health fairs at schools, and learning about ecological gardening.
During the show Dr. Zobel stressed the importance of children learning about how to take care of their health and the founding of another group: Kids for Kids Health. Be sure to tune into Dr. Zobel's show Health and Nature each Thursday morning at 11:30 a.m. on Trent Radio 92.7 FM to hear more about this exciting program.
