Omemee Veterinary Hospital Extended a helping paw towards making the Lions Purina Walk for Dog Guides on the Trans Canada Trail a Great Success!
Don Ditchburn,co-ordinator of this year’s  Lions Purina Walk for Dog Guides is very grateful for the support of all who took part in giving donations and participating in the walk. This is the first in a series of posts profiling the businesses, and individuals who assisted in this event. If you missed out on the opportunity to participate,it’s not too late! Donations are still being accepted simply fill out the form at Purina Walk for Dog Guides to make an online donation to our local walk. Gifts are also welcome by telephone at 1-800-768-3030 or by mail to Lions Foundation of Canada’s Purina Walk for Dog Guides, PO Box 907, Oakville, ON L6J 5E8. (Checks payable to Lions Foundation of Canada).
Omemee Veterinary Hospital is an active community partner in many local fundraising events, and their staff all work to help make Omemee Area a better place for the people and animals in their care. Omemee Veterinary Hospital is popular with pets from al over. It is not uncommon to find patients from as far as Toronto in their care.
Thanks to Omemee Veterinary Hospital, each participant in the Lions Purina Walk for Dog Guides, not only took home a handy magnetic frame for their fridge, but their donation of $150 towards the barbeque, helped feed hungry walkers at the end of their trek.
Omemee Veterinary Hospital actively supports the local Humane Societies in both Lindsay and Peterborough, and is very involved in numerous community endeavours including Omemee Medical Centre, erecting the village clock, and Scout Apple Day. Most notable, just last spring, Dr. Norman and her staff, assisted  Kawartha Lakes Fire Service in groundbreaking rescue training for animals in distress, and raised over $200 to help establish a fund to for pets requiring care when taken by EMS personnel to a vet.
Omemee Veterinary Hospital located at 128 King Street West, Omemee is under the direction of Dr. Kathleen Norman. Dr. Norman and her staff pride themselves in treating your animals like they are their own. The Omemee Veterinary Hospital is open Monday through Saturday,and can also be reached after hours for emergencies by calling 705-742-4243.
