Ruth Earle – Notable Omemee Citizen Remembered.

Fondly Remembered Citizen Laid to Rest -

Ruth Earle, or Ruth Scott,as some may remember her, enteredRuth Earle  peacefully into rest at Extendicare Kawartha Lakes on Friday, July 15, 2011 in her 95th year. Ruth was the wife of the late Dr. William Earle.
It is perhaps, as ‘Doc’ Earle’s wife that Ruth is best remembered by long time locals. Many remember having been ‘patched up’ by the doctor.
In earlier years, Ruth, a soft spoken, kind woman would patiently share insights into how the practice of medicine had changed over the years with young visitors to her village home at the corner of Sturgeon and Church streets. Ruth’s collection of mortars, pestles, and other medical instruments fascinated young and old alike.
Friends and relatives, are invited to pay their respects and express condolences to her family, from 2:30 pm to 3 pm today at Stoddart’s Funeral Home, 24 Mill Street, Lindsay. Ruth’s family has asked that memorial donations to the foundation of your choice be made in lieu of flowers. Funeral and committal services will be held in Lindsay at 3 pm with Interment later at Emily Cemetery, Omemee.
For more information about the services, to express condolences, or share photos online, please see the online memorial book for Ruth Earle at  Stoddart’s Funeral Home.
