Editorial –Suzanne SholerDid you know Omemee Pigeon eFlyer is written by a mum? Omemee Pigeon eFlyer started in February, as a result of receiving three calls in one week, where each person said 'It’s too bad there isn’t an Omemee Paper anymore’. Coincidentally, each of those phone calls were disappointed with the lack of communication available between our rural community, our schools, our churches, families, non-profit organizations, and businesses.
Not having the resources to publish an offline paper, but having some online skills, I took on the challenge. The aim? To create a community of people writing their news, and connecting people and businesses with information abut our rural area. Omemee Pigeon eFlyer is syndicated to over 2,000 accounts, offers a platform to anyone who would like to participate in promoting our local rural area,and acts as an proactive tourist information centre offering links to more information about events, groups, and businesses in our rural area.
The goal of Omemee Pigeon eFlyer is to help create a better community for us all through increased communication. It takes a village to raise a child. THIS is our village.
