Youngtown Museum Future Plans

NOTICE! The Future of Youngtown: Update and Clarification

By Trevor H. Youngtown President:
The following is from Youngtown Museum Facebook page:
We've received some inquires pertaining to our recent posts about the future of the Youngtown Museum and our annual Youngtown Jam Concert which Id like to briefly address and clarify.

Youngtown Museum Sneak Peek
The Youngtown Museum is now half way through it's "Sixth" season of operation. Make no mistake, interest in the project remains very very strong, visitors continue to seek us out from around the globe, operational expenses continue to be met, and enthusiasm for Youngtown among volunteers and myself remains high. We are proud of the small contribution we have made in terms of paying tribute to The Young Family and to the pioneers of rock n roll these past years. We also hope to continue beyond the 2013 season. Having said this, the future challenge will be to secure a new owner of Youngtown as family and related personal demands remain my number one priority... as such, I simply no longer have the time to attend to all the demands of running a volunteer museum. Someone will be needed to take this wonderful and important project to the next level, to make it available year round, and open to the public throughout the week...not just the two days per week we have currently been able to offer. In terms of The Youngtown Jam, this will be the last year I will host the event. Additionally, at season end exhibits at the museum will be thinned and refocused more exclusively on Neil Young and the early Canadian music scene. Further information on these matters will be forthcoming in the months ahead. Sincerely, and with best wishes Trevor H. / Youngtown President
