The turkey hunting regulations for Omemee are a bit complicated. Can you wild turkey in Omemee? Weeelll... Yes and no. In the spring the answer is straight forward yes. However the Fall Wild Turkey Hunt is more complicated. The Ontario Hunting regulations split Omemee in half - north of Highway 7 is zone 75, and south of 7 is zone 73. The 2014 Fall Turkey hunt allows wild turkey hunting in zone 73 - that is south of Highway 7, but not zone 75 - north of Highway 7. So technically if you meet a very smart bird, you'll want to be sure he doesn't cross the road, or you may find you're on the other side of the law.

Wild Turkey Hunting Quick Facts

There is a fall Wild Turkey Hunt and A Spring Wild Turkey Hunt. In the Spring Wild Turkey Hunt you can hunt Wild turkeys on both sides of Highway 7 in zone 73 and zone 75.

Want to hunt Wild Turkey in Ontario? You'll need:

A valid hunting version Outdoors Card;
Completed the Ontario Wild Turkey Hunter Education Course and passed the exam;
A valid small game licence tag or e-licence (for resident or non-resident as the case may be; must be purchased prior to the turkey licence);
A wild turkey licence and game seal.

Where can you take the Wild Turkey Hunter Education course?
Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters offers a schedule of courses, and a home study course is also available on their website.
