Animals prepare for winter months by eating lots of food, storing food, changing colour for camouflage, flying south, or hibernating.
Families prepare for winter by getting winter clothes, and tools ready. For most people in Omemee area, winter preparations are second nature. Imagine how it would be for a family who had lived all their lives in countries where they don't get snow.

Children's author, Jan Brett has many charming winter-themed books involving animals: including The Mitten and The Hat. Either of these books would make a a gift of hand knit mittens or socks magical.
