Extreme Cold Weather Warnings Expected - Plug in Your Car!

Environment Canada Anticipates Cold Weather Warnings Ahead! 

Environment Canada issued an early morning statement advising residents in areas surrounding Omemee to expect extreme cold weather warnings in the coming week, Current radar maps show roads in Millbrook area may be extremely slippery due to mixed precipitation.

Residents may wish to be sure their vehicle block heaters are functioning for early morning cold weather starts, and be alert for extreme cold health problems especially with children, the elderly and pets. Time to haul out balaclavas to protect noses and cheeks from windburn, and frostbite.

  • Fenelon Falls - Balsam Lake Park - Northern Kawartha Lakes 
  • Lindsay - Southern Kawartha Lakes

Coldest temperatures of the season for the upcoming work week. A frigid Arctic airmass will arrive tonight plunging Southern Ontario into a deep freeze for the upcoming work week. Extreme cold warnings will likely be required at times during the week due to the combination of cold temperatures and brisk winds.
Significant snow squalls will affect areas to the southeast of the Great Lakes at times. Snow squall watches are in effect for these regions. Meanwhile, remaining regions will see varying amounts of sun, cloud, and flurry activity.
