Greenshire EcoFest Horses Welcome You to Kawartha Farmfest Tour!

Greenshire Eco Farms Presents Ecofest 2011!

Greenshire Eco Farms, our closet farm participating in the 9th annual Kawartha Farmfest this weekend offers two days of Family filled fun! Kawartha Farmfest is FREE for children, and a weekend Sticker Pass with map is only $5 for adults. Also on in our area this weekend: Secret Garden Bethany,Youngtown Rock and Roll Museum, Omemee Historical Tour Photo Walk, Millbrook Farmers Market, and Farm gate sales at local farms. Read on for tips, maps and links to make the most of activities throughout our rural area this weekend.

Greenshire Eco Farms Ecofest - two fun-filled days featuring: garden tours, horse demos, veggies, tea, coffee, baked goods, and flower arrangements for sale. Visitors will also be able to bid on silent auction items to help raise funds for their Healing Horse Centre too! Festivities run from 10 am till 4 pm this weekend Oct 1st and 2nd, 2011. Maps & Admission Stickers are available for purchase at all host sites.

Here are some tips to help you make the most of your weekend in the country:
  • Bookmark this page using (CTRL +D) or refersh you r page,as we will be adding links to this article throughout the weekend.
  • Use the Farmfest and Victoria County Studio Tour guides and map to plan a route beginning at the site of your choice.  Allow about 1 hour per farm. Start your tour at any site.
  • Bring your camera - there is a Photo Contest!
  • Bring a cooler for fresh produce and baking.
  • Dress for the weather. Kawartha Farmfest takes place rain or shine! Be prepared to step through shallow trays containing liquid shoe  sanitizer.Farm animal health programs are in place at many livestock farms.
  • 'Do not enter signs' protect you,the animals,and crops. Please respect them.
  • Please leave pets at home - you will be visiting working farms with farm animals and pets.
  • Drive carefully.  Watch for brown balloons, and Kawartha Farmfest road signs directing you to the nearest site.
  • Parking is provided off road at all locations.  Avoid parking on the shoulder of the road for safety reasons.
  • Smoking is not permitted at any of the locations.
While you are touring through the Kawarthas this weekend,you will also want to check out these local farms, and events taking  place Saturdays,and Sundays as well.
