‘Building a Better Farm Business’ is what organizers of the Central Ontario Agricultural Conference hope farmers will do as a result of attending the 2012 program. Chairman John Miller is convinced 2012 will be an exciting year for livestock producers and field crop growers. The conference is an opportunity not to be missed.
Central Ontario Agricultural Conference, formerly known as "Ag Info Days". is a 3 day series of educational programming for farmers. The steering committee is comprised of a dedicated group of volunteers representing farm commodity groups in the region. These volunteers and their subcommittees work to develop the program content, contact speakers and sponsors and provide overall coordination. Each day of the event focuses on a different type of agriculture : Wednesday – Dairy, Poultry,Beef'; Thursday-Organic,Maple,and Sheep; Friday – Crops and Horses.
The planning committee continues to offer a top notch educational program and tradeshow. There are local, provincial and international speakers that will be of interest to horse, crop, maple syrup, farm fresh, organic, poultry and livestock farmers. The Central Ontario Agricultural Conference provides the latest information we need to remain competitive and profitable. The trade show, with about 40 exhibitors participating, is an important aspect of the event. It provides farm suppliers and farmers with the opportunity to meet and learn about the latest information on inputs, equipment, programs and services. This is a chance to talk to industry experts one on one.
The program would not be possible without the significant contributions of sponsors and the work of volunteers.
Central Ontario Agricultural Conference can be very proud of its history of providing excellence in farm business management information to farmers in the region. It is truly a program "designed by farmers for farmers".
