December 28th, 2011 9:20 pm, City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service responded to a report of a male stabbed at a house party in the area of Bond Street and Victoria Avenue in Lindsay. Upon police arrival, one 29 year old male victim had been stabbed. The suspect had fled the scene. Numerous witnesses to the stabbing were interviewed.
With the assistance of the canine unit, the suspect was tracked from Victoria Avenue along Bond Street, south along the west bank of the Scugog River, to east bound on Kent Street East, to south bound on St. Lawrence Street, where a male party was taken into custody in the area of Melbourne Street. Police are requesting that the public be aware that they are searching for a knife that may have been discarded somewhere along the route which the suspect fled. If a knife is located, the police are requesting that it not be disturbed, but to contact police immediately.
