Omemee - Artists Cooperating Towards Better Futures!

Omemee Welcome Centre 41 King Street East, Omemee has been welcoming visitors, and locals for almost one month. With the generous support of Laurie, and Pat Wookey; NP Media Business Solutions; Omemee Christian Outreach, and numerous individuals, Omemee Welcome Centre is filling a need in the community for locals and tourists. Through this time, numerous artisans have passed through the doors, sharing a common dream. The dream?

The dream is of a place encouraging the exploration of arts for young and old, as well as providing a solution to a centuries old conundrum - having a space to display and promote their arts. Out of these conversations, a vision has emerged, a vision of a combination Tourist Information Centre, Arts Studio run co-operatively by share holders.

Last night, during Arts Jam, interested artists, art enthusiasts, visitors, citizens, and business owners, were invited to take part in the official formation of Omemee Welcome Centre.

Omemee Welcome Centre -a place where visitors and locals can come set a spell, learn more about art and local history, local food, local organizations, and local businesses. Memberships in the Omemee Welcome Centre would begin at $1 a year to allow everyone to take part. Voting priveleges, and dividends will be determined through an algorithm which will take investment both physical and financial into consideration. Omemee Welcome Centre will be a for-profit venture with the goal of benefitting the community and its share holders.
