Ron Taylor New Kawartha Lakes CAO

Mr. Taylor has been the City’s Director of Development Services since July 2010 and was appointed acting CAO following the resignation of CAO Mark Fisher earlier this year.
“Ron is a great choice for our staff, our residents and our community,” said Mayor Andy Letham. “Ron brings a wealth of historical and institutional knowledge as well as a much-needed continuity to our business as we move forward.”
Mr. Taylor brings more than 20 years of municipal experience including roles in Economic and Business Development, Development Services and City Development Coordinator within the Office of Sustainability for the City of Pickering. Mr. Taylor has a BA Degree specializing in Urban Geography and Sociology from the University of Toronto.
“I’m thrilled to accept this position,” said Mr. Taylor. “We have a great staff here in Kawartha Lakes and a progressive and forward thinking Council and I believe we are going to see some great things transpire over the coming years.”
The City undertook a CAO recruitment process earlier this year and received interest from across the country.
“There was a lot of interest in this opportunity,” said Mayor Letham. “We shortlisted to four candidates but as a Council we were all in agreement Ron had not only the background and experience but the future vision we believe is essential for our community.”
Mr. Taylor will officially assume the role of CAO on Monday, August 10th.
