Fishing Ontario Lakes? Ontario Angler Awards!

Ontario Angler Awards Enter Today!

Anglers participating in Omemee's First Annual Bass Fishing Festival next Saturday, will want to bring along their cameras to qualify for the Ontario Angler Awards. Ontario Angler Awards offer awards through Ontario Tourism to visitors, and residents submitting pictures of their catch. Read on to find out about how you can qualify for the Ontario Angler Awards.

Angler must be fishing Ontario Waters as per the Ontario Recreational Fishing Regulations Summary 

Angler Awards Regulations Summary

  • Fish must be from the nineteen (19) listed species for the program
  • Fish must be equal to or longer than the posted minimum length for that species
  • Fish must be caught in the same fishing season as they are being entered
  • Angler must fill in their entry form online or by postal mail to be recognized for their catch

Ontario Angler Awards Prizes

Ontario Avid Angler Award

Anglers qualifying in at least five (5) of the ten (10) categories will have their superior angler abilities recognized with the O.F.A.H. Ontario Avid Angler Award. This prestigious award includes a FREE personalized Avid Angler Award Certificate and an Avid Angler Pin. The Avid Angler Award will be distributed at year's end.

Each angler who submits a qualified entry will receive a FREE personalized award certificate, along with an award program decal. So, come fish, and remember your camera!

The Ontario Angler Awards is a friendly, province-wide competition that officially promoting and recognizing recreational angling efforts in Ontario by both resident and non-resident anglers. The program, delivered in partnership by the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership along with a big catch of provincial lodges and outfitters, serves as a vehicle to promote sport fishing in Ontario and encourage the sustainable use of this resource.
