Tips for Enjoying Today’s Omemee Santa Day Parade Celebrations!

Omemee is brimming with excitement,as last minute float touches are being made, gifts for Attawapiskat kids packed up,and people of all ages eye the sky wondering what today's weather will bring. One thing for sure-It's bring treats, fun, Christmas Spirit,and SANTA! Even teens have an bit of a twinkle in their eye. Visitors to Omemee will want to know the following insider secrets to make the most of their day in Omemee.

Parade Watching Spots

King Street will be shut down just before 1pm at the corner of Ski Hill and Hwy 7,when floats and walkers will head down Dean Street to King then along King to Colborne where they will disperse north at Youngtown Museum.

Pre –Parade Activities

While waiting for the parade there are several things you may want to check out:
  • Roadside Diner Great burgers and more= Take part in the Snowflake Campaign  to help a local family.

During the Parade
  • Watch for 1st Omemee Scouting two floats One cute Christmasy float for the Beavers and one for winter scouting for the Cubs and Scouts. The Venturers and leaders will be pulling something "unique" this year to collect non-perishable items for the food drive!

Following the parade, festivities continue!

  • Kids Christmas at Coronation Hall Christmas for Kids Concert with Santa,  free Hot Chocolate, and treats from Omemee Lions. This old-fashioned Christmas Concert will welcome everyone to take the stage,or just join in the fun. There are some talented performers coming as  well.Omemee Christian Outreach is collecting gifts for the Children of Attawapiskat and giving out treats too. Bethany Girl Guides will be on hand to help lead the singing,with their chocolate mint cookies.
  • Christmas Legion Jam Omemee Legion will feature a Christmas Jam session following the parade,and the bar will be open for your enjoyment.
  • Christmas Tea -Christ Church Anglican will host a Christmas Tea with delicious goodies sure to put you in the holiday spirit!
