Mayor McGee kicked off Purina Walk for Gog Guides festivities at the Omemee
Curling Rink  where participants were preparing to head out on the Kawartha TransCanada Trail. He offered enthusiastic words of encouragement to the walkers who had gathered to raise funds to help others in need of companion dogs. Although there were only 22 walkers, the group raised close to $3,000 dollars for this very worthy cause.
‘Imagine how much will be raised when each of you brings a friend, next year,’ noted Mayor McGee, who also mentioned being at the Kirkfield, and Lindsay walk locations that day.
