Twitter Status Tells Don found
Donald Van Halteren, reported missing yesterday, has been found at a hospital outside City of Kawartha Lakes.
missing man found at a hospital outside of the city.Jamie said that Don's son works for him,and shared the news late last evening. We then received a single word from a reader on our Facebook post: Found.
Next, we noticed a note on the BOB 91.9FM Facebook wall from one of their followers.
Bobbi-Lynn Hil shared on Bob91.9Fm Facebook wall that Don had been at Newmarket hospital,and was transferred to Ross Memorial in Lindsay to be picked up by his family.
Police Confirm Don Van Halteren Found
6:25 am this morning, Sergeant Terry Cox #36 City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service issued the following media release:The Kawartha Lakes Police Service and the family of Donald VanHalteren wish to thank the community for their efforts. Mr. VanHalteren was located safe, outside our jurisdiction.
'At 6am this morning,we had received third party information that Donald Van Halteren had been located' shared Sergeant Cox, adding'I knew that people would want the information as soon as possible,but we needed to wait until we received first hand information,before sending public notification.'Sergeant Cox also thanked the Omemee Pigeon eFlyer for their assistance in getting the word out on Twitter.
'I am overwhelmed at just how fast my media partners can assist me. Facebook and twitter[were] absolutely “alive” last evening.'
Omemee Pigeon eFlyer thanks all our social media friends for helping spread the word about Don, and are very relieved to hear he has been found.
