Millbrook Libraries Facing 25% Funding Cut!

Millbrook Residents Rausing Awareness!

Marjorie McDonald, Millbrook, recently posted the following information on Facebook regarding potential rural library closures:

The municipality is planning on cutting the funding that the Millbrook
and Cavan libraries get by 25% for the 2013 year. I don't know how
much all of you use the library, but this will result in a significant
reduction in the services that are provided, including:

- closing of the Bruce Johnston branch
- reduction of hours at the Millbrook branch
- reducing the number of staff from 9 to 3.5
- loss of children's programming (i.e. story time, monthly library parties)
- loss of summer programs (i.e. tutoring program, jk preparation,
summer reading program)

Do you oppose this idea as much as I do???? Write your councillor..
the link their email is here:
http://cavanmonaghan.net/en/councilandcommittees/council.asp

Tell them how you feel about this... Our community NEEDS this service,
since there is precious little for children and families to do here
already... LITERACY IS IMPORTANT

Pass this on and share it with as many as possible... make them hear
your feelings on this!
