Here is the press release from Manvers Wind Concern.

Manvers Wind Concern Thanks Omemee Councillor

Another huge thank you to those who took a couple of hours out today to attend City Hall in Lindsay to support the attached Resolution presented by Mary Ann Martin, Ward 15 ( Omemee ). This is another message to the Province, based on common sense, asking them to cancel further Large Renewable Contracts for Industrial Wind Turbines and multi-acreage Solar facilities. ( They are not farms. All they grow is debt. ) The Resolution passed unanimously as COKL joins over 50 other municipalities in sending yet another clear message to the Province.
It was terrific to see Ms. Martin, who has no large scale Industrial Wind Turbine or Solar projects currently threatening her Ward, step out on principal to present the motion. There were legitimate concerns expressed by Council that we might be " poking the bear " in Toronto over much, and that we may as an area miss out on the so-called Community Benefits that the Wind and Solar companies frequently offer as ' sweeteners ". Fortunately,  and again, unanimously , Council stood on principal choosing to ignore the potential of future retribution / extortion from the Provincial " bear ", and/ or blood money paid by the Wind Companies financed by subsidies that come from.....you guessed it......YOUR TAXES AND YOUR INFLATED HYDRO BILLS. BRIBING US WITH OUR OWN MONEY.
Thanks again to Mary Ann, to Council , and to the persevering people of Manvers.
