Downeyville Irish Concerts Welcome You

Last night Downeyville kicked off a two night session of Irish music and Entertainment in honour of St. Patrick's Day. If you are lucky, you might still be able to get a seat tonight.Tomorrow, afternoon there is a Bluegrass Jam at Omemee Legion, the Legion St. Patruck's Day Dance on March 23rd is totally sold out. Dee Girdler penned an excellent piece highlighting Downeyville's history, and Irish music. Here is a small excerpt adapted from her article:

Musicians Welcome! Omemee Jam ! Omemee This Morning- 6/28/12

Omemee This Morning welcomed James Ross into our Mr.Convenience Studio this morning where we chatted about his music,work and the upcoming jam session. James is back in the village after 16 years away. James is hoping lots of musicians will join him at the beach park on Saurday afternoon.

James Turns His Life Around Full Circle


James, a roofer and home improver,has great memories of the friendly folks with whom he attended Omemee Pentecostal Church as a boy. He is happy to be back in town and looks forward to expanding his business to employ more local people. James shared a bit about how his life has come full circle,bringing him back to Omemee with a musical ministry,and with skilled trades. We are looking forward to welcoming James to our Mister Convenience studio as a regular guest.
We also discussed many Omemee Pioneer Days events in this episode, including the 'Omemee Remembers' live broadcast from 41 King St. W. on Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 1st,2012.

FREE Omemee Beach BBQ Family Features Christian Rappers From Miami!

Omemee Beach Sunday June 24 2-5 pm FREE BBQ, Volleyball Tournament, Kids Games, Wait what's this - Rappers? "I am JBEZ" and Streets Salvation are in Kawartha Lakes turning Rap on its head,and turning hearts to God with Rap, healing, and word!

Streets Salvation and "I am JBEZ" from Miami, have a ministry that reaches all ages.In videos posted by D2Mmusic, you can see their music, Bible study sessions, healing services,and testimonies of people whose lives have been turned around by their ministry.

Friday,June 22, R.A.V.E.N. Ministries hosted a FREE Share the Flare Youth / Young adult event 7 pm with youth from Omemee and across Kawartha Lakes. Youth moved to the beat, participated in a Rap Battle,won Prizes,received FREE CD's, demonstrated Biblical knowledge,and joined in exploring scripture in a fun way that was new to many. Opening for Streets Salvation and JBEZ was a great local youth band from Little Britain.

Sunday,June 24 JBEZ and Streets Salvation will be at Omemee Outreach on the Beach. George Street South,Omemee 2-5 pm. Today's all ages event will include a FREE BBQ ,a Volleyball tournament, kids games,and more. Opening for "I am JBEZ" and "Streets Salvation" will be local Christian Gospel musicians, Vicky and Joy.

Sunday evening ,June 24, Streets Salvation and JBEZ will be at Lindsay Outreach beside Lindsay Daily Post offices. We are looking forward to posting more details as they arrive.

Outreach at the Beach is hosted by Omemee Christian Outreach,and is the kick-off for the Omemee Outreach bi-weekly FREE Family BBQ's.

Omemee Bluegrass Musician Performs Tonight!

Join Northland Ramblers tonight for the 'Thanks to Tracy Bash'. This Open Mic Night at Mr. Bob's Gourmet Pizza is a tribute to Tracy Robinson, major sponsor for local Country & Bluegrass entertainment events in Peterborough.

'Tracy, owner of Mr. Bob's, will be closing this establishment very soon.' shared Gerry Mitchell adding,'he will be greatly missed.'

Many Blue Grass and Country fans know Tracy, may have played there, may have listened to music there or may have enjoyed his wonderful food.
Bill MacDonald, of Northland Ramblers organized this special music event, and is inviting everyone to come out to thank Tracy.
