Bethany -Omemee Service Centre Consolidation Approved!
Kawartha Lakes Council Approves Bethany Service Centre Consolidation!
Kawartha Lakes Council approved the consolidation of two Municipal Service Centres in an effort to cut costs as explained by Mayor Andy Letham.“Today’s decision helps lessen the budget pressure with minimal impact on service levels. There is library staff in place in Bethany and Kirkfield locations to help with core services such as permits and information, and they will continue as the personal presence for the municipality” comments Mayor Letham.One of the service centres now slated for consolidation is Bethany.
Omemee Municipal Service Centre is now the closest office for Bethany and area residents.

Council approves consolidation of two Municipal Service Centres KAWARTHA LAKES – At the July 12 Council meeting, City of Kawartha Lakes Council approved the Core Service recommendation for the consolidation of assets and human resources of the Municipal Service Centres in Bethany and Kirkfield into the remaining four Service Centres. The recommendation supports the continued operations of the Coboconk, Bobcaygeon, Lindsay and Omemee Service Centres (5 days per week, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm). The changes will come into effect October 1, 2016.
“Service centre employees are to be commended for their professionalism and for setting an exceptional customer service standard – we hope to expand on that culture and skill set to all public entry points” explains Kawartha Lakes CAO Ron Taylor.Staff will also bring forward a Core Service Review report on the Lindsay Service Centre/Call Centre by the end of this year.
