Omemee Radio Interview Hits Headlines!

Lures and Tours Posts Omemee Radio Interview in Top Spot!

A short time ago Tom Otto of Angler and Hunter Radio contacted Omemee Pigeon eFlyer,asking for details about the First Annual Omemee Summer Family Fishing Festival. Angler and Hunter Radio airs on 10 radio stations across Ontario,including locally at 7 am Saturday mornings on KRUZFM.
The interview,show 20, is now gaining even more mileage through a top article posted on Lures and Tours website.Lures and Tours Fishing and Recreational Tourism Directories site,had over 15,000 page views last month alone, so this choice spot in the Kawarthas Tourism Directory page is indeed a great honour for our village. Young Anime Caricaturist - Fish Festival Guest!

Young Anime Caracturist Brittany,Raises Funds Helping Kids!

Brittany astounded visitors at the Omemee Arts Jam. During the Omemee Arts Jam, Thursday nught,Brittany quickly sketched people in Anime style.
Brittany will be bringing her unique talent to the Omemee Family Fishing Festival,Saturday July 14 from 2 pm to 4:30pm.Brittany will be donating part of her proceeds from her Caricatures Sessions to the Five Counties Children's Centre. Here is one of Brittany's Sketches, which are available at the Omemee Welcome Centre at 41 King Street East,Omemee.

Omemee Thursday Arts Jam Announced!

Omemee Welcome Centre Welcomes Artists!

Thursday, July 12, 2012 Artists will share artwork of all genres at Omemee Welcome Centre in a unique multimedia Arts Jam as part of the Omemee Family Fishing Festival.

Singers, visual artists, writers, performers, culinary artists, actors, storytellers, dancers and more will be welcomed to share their talents with others Thursday evening from 6 to 9 pm at 41 King Street East, Omemee. Following the Arts Jam, artists will also have the opportunity to select a space for displaying their work and business cards. All participating artists will also have the opportunity be featured in the Omemee Pigeon eFlyer. Refreshments provided.

The theme for this Mixed Media Arts Jam is 'Water'. Artists are encouraged to bring up to four 2-3 minute selections to share.  Since seating is limited, audience and artists alike are encouraged to pre-register by dropping off a fully refundable $8 deposit.Deposits will be refunded at the door. Deposits not picked up will be donated to the Five Counties Children's Centre to help children facing challenges realize their full potential. Free will donations will be gratefully accepted. Proceeds to the Five Counties Children's Centre.

Rosa Sharpe, CEO Lures and Tours, dropped into the Omemee Family Fishing Festival to chat Family Fishing fun. You may have seen Rosa in Coboconk at the Top Bass Tournament last weekend photographing the event.

James and his mum were in Omemee for the afternoon,stopping into Carol's Hairstyling to get a new summer look.
James picked up a Colouring contest entry, and was thrilled with mum's purchase of Girl Guide cookies. They will be looking through their photos for a picture to enter in the Fish Photo Contest too.

What is the Millpond Militia?


The Pigeon River Pirates and Millpond Militia, are a fun addition to the Omemee Family Fishing Festival. Omemee Pigeon eFlyer received a notice that our mascot Pigeon was in peril from the Pigeon River Pirates. People can sign up for either the Pigeon River Pirates or the Millpond Militia, and gain points for their team by doing various activities. Keep you eyes peeled for signs of pirates throughout the village!

Fish Photography Workshop Announced - WalPeg Studio!

Fish Photography - Make Lasting Impressions!

How do you take a great fish photo? Whether it is your grandchild's first fish,or a prize winner in a catch and release tourney,you want a picture that truly says a thousand words.
"While the subject of this workshop is fish photography,many of the concepts are the same for other subjects' shared Walter adding,'this workshop will be of interest to many people.'

Walter Cracknell of WalPeg Studios will be holding a 'How to Photograph Your Fish' Workshop, Saturday, July 14 th at 2 pm at 41 King Street East,Omemee.  Come learn how to make that shot a truly memorable picture. Bring YOUR fish photo for optional individual critiquing and entry into our First Annual Summer Family Fishing Festival Photo Competitition. Entry fee per Photo: $5.

While this is a FREE workshop, seating is limited,so a  fully refundable $10 seating reservation is requested. Seating fee will be fully refunded when you arrive at the workshop. Any seating reservation fees not picked up at the beginning of the workshop will be donated to Five Counties Children's Centre to help children who face challenges in life, realize their true potential. Omemee invites you! Fish Free from July 7 to July 15! Yes ! No fishing license needed Plus join in the Family Fishing Fun Festivities taking place throughout Omemee Family Fun Fishing Week.

Pirates of the Pigeon : Rescue Operation - Omemee Pigeon has been pigeonnapped by the Pirates of the Pigeon. Help Rescue the Pigeon by following clues throughout the village of Omemee. Watch out for pirate clues,and pirates around the village all week long.

Greatest Fish Tale Adults & Under 18 with Parental consent- Just How Big was that Fish that got away? Let us video you telling your best Fish Tale and place it on YouTube,then get your friends to vote , vote VOTE! Winner will be determined by a combination of the tale with the most likes and judging criteria.Top 3 Stories will each be invited back to share their tale as VIPs during the August Bass Fishing Festival, and be featured in the Omemee Pigeon eFlyer eZine. Kids Fishing Postcard from Omemee- Omemee Post Office Sponsors Kids' Postcard writing activity. Omemee Treasure Hunt : Gain bonus entries in the Omemee Treasure Hunt by visiting local businesses, in person, and online to complete Trivia questions,and do tasks. Due to popular demand,this is a continuation of the Treasure Hunt started during Pioneer Days.
