Save Time and Money with Drought Loving Plants and Grasses
During the summer months, water use increases by 50%, mainly due to lawn and garden watering. Taking into account the watering requirements of your garden plants can save you time and money. A great many plant varieties are available as perennials, annuals, bulbs, herbs, trees, and shrubs, which require only rainfall once they become established. Water efficient gardening isn't particularly new,nor radical. It's simply choosing plants which require only rainfall. The advantages of water efficient gardening are numerous:
- It's convenient and less work for you, especially if you cover the soil with mulch (eg. wood chips) to deter weed growth, and retain moisture.
- Water efficient plants are hardier so you don't have to work as hard to maintain them.
- The variety of shapes and colours will provide beauty you can enjoy all season long.
- Best of all, Mother Nature pays the water bill, saving you money!
