Kawartha Lakes Health Care Initiative Recruits New Doctor!
Dr. Meileen Joynt Accepting New Kawartha Lakes Patients !
Special From: Cindy Snider Kawartha Lakes Health Care Initiative -New family doctor, Dr. Meileen Joynt, looks forward to welcoming Kawartha Lakes patients to her new general family medicine practice, by Giant Tiger 55 Angeline Street North, Lindsay. KLHCI is very pleased to announce that Dr.
Meileen Joynt will be opening a general family medicine practice on October 3, 2011. Dr. Joynt joins City of Kawartha Lakes Family Health Team in their new offices beside Giant Tiger. She will be accepting up to 1200 City of Kawartha Lakes patients through Health Care Connect. If you do not have a family doctor, please contact Health Care Connect at www.healthcareconnect.gov.on.ca or 1-800-445-1822 to register.
Andrew Veale, President of KLHCI explains : 'After meeting our Recruitment Coordinator at the fall 2009 PAIRO Tour, Dr. Joynt first visited our community during a Winter Residents’ Weekend which was hosted by KLHCI. We are pleased that this recruitment initiative was successful in attracting her to our area and we welcome Dr.Joynt and her young family to both the City of Kawartha Lakes and the medical community.'Dr. Joynt attended Queen’s University for her undergraduate degree, received her medical degree from the University of Western Ontario, and completed her family medicine residency at the University of Toronto. She is settling into her new home, along with her husband, and toddler; and they are establishing themselves in the area. Dr. Eric Ready, lead physician for the City of Kawartha Lakes Family Health Team, is also pleased to welcome Dr. Joynt. The team looks forward to assisting her in establishing her practice. Dr. Joynt noted that having a Family Health Team in place, was one of the important factors in her decision to come to the City of Kawartha Lakes.
