Trillium Lakelands District School Board presents David Bouchard!
David Bouchard,best-selling author,Order of Canada recipient, travels worldwide, sharing his stories promoting the joy of reading, writing, and music to thousands of children, parents, and educators. Thursday, October 13, 2011, 7 pm, Bouchard will be sharing his passion for literacy at IE Weldon Secondary School. All members of the public ofany age are invited to attend. Car pooling is being encouraged.
Who Is David Bouchard?

Bouchard, a former teacher and school principal, has written more than 50 books in English, French, and a number of First Nation dialects. He believes that everyone should be encouraged to read – it's a basic human right! For over 12 years, Bouchard has been inspiring and directing people to become readers.
'We are extremely pleased to have David come back to our area,' stated Director of Education, Larry Hope, 'For those who may have missed his first visit, it's a perfect opportunity for students, parents, and community members to hear traditional stories, listen to wonderful music, and to be immersed in David's passion for literacy.'
Trillium Lakelands District School Board:Aboriginal Education Initiative
The Aboriginal Education initiative began in earnest at Trillium Lakelands District School Board in 2006. Native studies classes have blossomed throughout the board, and each school has a 'Guiding the Way' welcome sign adorning the front foyer. An annual symposium provides students and staff an opportunity to share experiences, try new crafts and food, and highlight projects completed throughout the school year.
