Police Seeking Red Robbery Get Away Car!
Red Hatchback Sought in Parking Lot Robbery!
Kawartha Lakes Police Service would like your assistance. Just after 3pm today a male snatched a woman's wallet from her hands after she exited the Bank of Montreal at 16 William Street South in Lindsay.
Wallet Snatching Seems Well Orchestrated
The victim just exited the bank, after withdrawing money, and was walking across the parking lot towards her vehicle.While she was organizing her wallet, a white male about 19-20 years of age approached her from behind. The male grabbed the wallet from her hands, then fled east bound through the rear parking lot towards The Food Store. A family member of the victim who was waiting in a parked car immediately took up chase.
A small red hatchback vehicle, similar to a Pontiac Vibe, was already maneuvering through the parking lot being driven by another white male possibly aged 35-40. The wallet thief jumped in the passenger seat of the vehicle after the driver flung the door open. They fled the area.
Luckily,the victim was not injured.
Clues In the Case
The wallet thief is described as thin, 19-20 years old,5'10" - 6' tall with a pointed nose and strong jaw line. He was wearing a hoody and a possible black jacket.
The red hatchback "getaway vehicle" may have a licence plate beginning with the letter "A".
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kawartha Lakes Police Service or Kawartha Haliburton Crime Stoppers.
