Yankee Line Woman Arrested Twice!

One Day-Two Locations-Four Charges!

A Yankee Line woman had a busy day with the Peterborough Lakefield Police.

Wal-Mart Loss Prevention Officer Foils Theft

March 8, 2012 at approximately 11:15 a.m. a Wal-Mart loss prevention officer watched a woman select various make-up items off the shelf, slip the items into her jacket, then place the empty packaging back on the shelves. The woman then walked out of the store without paying for the items.

The loss prevention officer approached the woman outside the store, and arrested her for theft. The total value of the theft was approximately $53.12. During the arrest, the woman compounded her problems by providing false information. Police were called, and as a result of the investigation, Kasey Michelle Skitch, 23, of Yankee Line Ennismore, was charged with theft under $5,000, and obstructing police. She was released from custody and will appear in court on those charges March 29, 2012.

Drug Trafficking and Careless Driving Charge

Later that same evening, Kasey was arrested on drug trafficking charges, when she and two buddies were pulled over by police on Chemong Road north of Peterborough. Once again Kasey compounded her difficulties by backing into the police vehicle. Kasey along with 29 year old William Martin Dashuk of Bridgenorth, and 30 year old Christopher James Gonder of Peterborough, will appear in court May 3rd on those charges.
