Speed Brings Pot Arrest

An Ajax resident faces a drug related charge after drugs were located in a vehicle stopped by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
 
On Saturday, July 14, 2012 an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP detachment conducted a vehicle stop for speeding on Highway 35 near Golf Course Road, within the City of Kawartha Lakes.  During the investigation the officer determined that the accused was in possession of a small quantity of marihuana.
 
As a result of the investigation Abdul FAIZER WADOOD, 21 years of age, is charged with speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and possession of a controlled substance contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
 
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Provincial courts in Lindsay on August 23, 2012.
