John Popowich Sr. Suddenly Called Away Home!
John ,and his wife Vicky members of Victory Christian Fellowship, moved to Omemee several years ago, where John worked with Harry Peeters and community members to start an outreach in the village of Omemee.
First starting Omemee Christian Men's Fellowship, which later evolved into Omemee Christian Outreach offering Free Monday night dinners with inspirational speakers, music and children's program and 'Outreach at the Beach' during summers.
John was very pleased when his son John Jr. wife Kim and children moved to Omemee, also taking an active part in the Omemee Christian Outreach activities.
John Popowich stressed the preachings of Paul and the importance of congregations working together. At the Omemee Christian Outreach dinners John stressed, 'These dinners are not about me,they are not about what we do, they are all about Jesus, and showing the love of Jesus.' John stexplained that Omemee Christian Outreach was not a church, and encouraged people to find a congregation with which they could worship.
John Popowich also frequently spoke about how happy he would be when he would be called home to be with Jesus. John graduated from this life while at a Ministry session in Woodstock. Monday evening, Omemee Christian Outreach welcomes all to share in the legacy of John Popowich in a celebration of Thanksgiving in honour of the work John was called to do in the Village of Omemee.
