Emily Provincial Park Omemee Limited Campsites Still Available
Get Bit By the Camping Bug!
Emily Provincial Park has been a favourite May 24th long weekend camping spot for many years. Although the website appears that Emily Park is not open, campers will be happy to hear it is busy, and in full swing.
Emily Park borders the quiet Pigeon River,offers family swimming at two sandy beaches, fishing and a chance to go for a paddle. Enjoy canoeing or kayaking along the river's shoreline. Explore the wetland where there are numerous wildlife viewing opportunities.Remember to take along your bicycle, to explore the nearby Kawartha Trans Canada Trail.
Emily Park Omemee:Reservations
Although the Group Campground is no longer available for this weekend, there were 14 sites still available at time of publication.Check out the Emily Park online reservations and book your site now.
Here are details on some of Emily Park's Facilities:
Emily Park Omemee:Hiking Marsh Boardwalk Trail 0.8 km (30 minutes) easy
Walk through a cattail marsh and stop at a viewing platform to see an active osprey nest. Please note: Boardwalk portion of trail closed.
Emily Park Omemee: Boating Pigeon River leads south to the village of Omemee where there is a boat launch in the centre of town,and north to the Trent Canal system linking Lake Ontario to Georgian Bay. There are two boat launches within the park. A marina is two km from the park.
Emily Park Omemee: Fishing Drop your line off the park dock for panfish, or cast off from your boat to catch larger fish such as walleye, Muskie, and large and small mouth bass. Live bait and tackle are available at the Park Store. More information on fishing.
Emily Park Omemee:Swimming - Two sandy beaches border the Pigeon River.
