Millbrook Theatre Fundraiser Highlights Classic Hollywood!

4th Line Theatre Millbrook Fundraising Dinner!



4th Line Theatre Millbrook will celebrate the 1920s and ’30s with a night of food, music, an auction and a chance to rub elbow with some of the actors and writers behind this season’s two productions: Queen Marie and St. Francis of Millbrook directed by Kim Blackwell.

Queen Marie Musical Comedy Highlights Cobourg Film Star



Queen Marie, is a musical comedy written by Shirley Barrie. The comedy highlights the life of Marie Dressler, one of the earliest and biggest stars of silent films,who was born in Cobourg. Queen Marie runs July 3 to Aug. 4., Tuesdays through Saturdays at 6 p.m., with five shows a week.

Some of Dressler’s films will be screened during the gala, setting the atmosphere for the ’20s-’30s themed evening.

St. Francis of Millbrook : Examines Small Town Gay Issues


St. Francis of Millbrook, by Sky Gilbert is story of a boy growing up gay in a small town, and his father’s intolerance of the situation. St. Francis of Millbrook runs Aug. 13 to Sept. 1, Monday through Saturday at 6 p.m., with six shows a week.

Michelle Ferrari from CHEX-TV will host the evening, with Rob Rusland handling the auction. Funds raised go to support 4th Line programming.

The event happens April 21 at 7 p.m. at the Baxter Creek Golf Club, 1702 Cedar Valley Rd. Fraserville.
