Rare Terrier Breed Lives Here! [Kids Corner Picture of the Day]
Omemee Home to Two Beddlington Terriers
Beddlington Terrier owner, Reverend Wendy Bulloch, loved dogs, but allergies were a problem. Reverend Wendy went searching for dogs that didn't shed, and wouldn't interfere with her allergies.
'When I found Beddlington Terriers,' Wendy shared'I didn't realize how rare they were.'
Beddlington Terriers do not shed, have wool like poodles, and do not have the dander to which most people are allergic.
'Beddlington Terriers are often described as hypoallergenic,' explained Wendy cautioning,'However iIf ,you are allergic to dog saliva, not just the dander, you could get an allergic reaction.'
Reverend Wendy Bulloch, and her husband Reverend Alan Boyd, have two Beddlington Terriers : Alastair and MacDonald.
'Alastair, is MacDonald's father,' Wendy shared explaining,'When the puppies were born, there were seven in the litter,so we named them after the members of the group of seven.'
MacDonald who has a lovely temperament, just fathered a litter of puppies, and has an appointment next week to father another litter for the same family.
'We call MacDonald - Mac or Mackie for short,' Wendy explained adding with a chuckle'- Except when I'm angry - then it's E.J. MacDonald.'
For friendly Beddlington Terriers Alastair and Mackie, getting their picture taken happens each time they are out for a walk, so if you see Alastair and Mackie, be sure to say Hi. If you have your camera along, snap a picture and share these lovely rare dogs with your friends.
