New Bike Trail Map Shows Omemee Peterborough Route

Cycling Enthusiasts Discovering Omemee

New Peterborough Trails and Bikeways maps being distributed at this Wednesday's Bikefest at Millennium Park Peterborough, and numerous Peterborough locations; will for the first time profile routes to Omemee and Lakefield.
City of Peterborough, Susan Sauve, Transportation Demand Management Planner had the foresight  to include family-friendly routes to Omemee and Lakefield in the newest edition of the Peterborough Trails and Bikeways map. The Peterborough Trails and Bikeways map aims to help people “put the dots together” to find great cycling routes to visit friends, go shopping, and get to work. In addition to multi-use trails, cycling lanes, and recommended  road links; the new map shows Peterborough neighbourhood and nature area walking trails. Maps are available at a number of Peterborough locations and Bikefest, in Peterborough on Wednesday at Millennium Park . These maps hold the promise of bringing more cyclists to explore the village and surrounding area. The Omemee Pigeon eFlyer has been in touch with Ms. Sauve ,to request a number of maps be distributed in Omemee as well, or at least be available online. This post will be updated as soon as we receive an answer from Ms. Sauve.

For more details on the new Peterborough Trails and Bikeways maps, see the City of Peterborough  2011-05-09 New Trail and Bike Map Media release.
