Gamiing Nature Centre Welcomes Student Eco Presentations at Summer Lakeshore Festival!
Summer Lakeshore Festival offers students an opportunity to showcase the environmental achievements and eco-literacy of their students. This fun educational event has challenges for students of all ages! Teachers and home schoolers are encouraged to pick a challenge or two for their students to complete and share at the Summer Lakeshore Festival June 16 th 11am - 5pm
Gamiing Offers Great Earth Day Educational Resources
Gamiing Nature Centre compiled helpful cross-curricular planning resources to assist educators who would like their students to take part in the ecological challenges. The Ecological Challenges range in levels from Kindergarten to grade 8 and include many connections to First Nations studies as well. Monday, February 20,2012 Gamiing Nature Centre offers familes good old fashioned winter fun for Family Day! From 11am - 5pm families will gather at the popular local nature concervancy for snowshoeing, skiing, skating, kicksledding,trail bingo and much more. Delicious hot refreshments will be available too.
Gamiing Nature Centre is centrally located at 1884 Pigeon Lake Road:

Join in the Family Fun at Gamiing Nature Centre, Omemee, Ontario!
June 11 th from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Gamiing Nature Centre presents the 11th Annual Summer Lakeshore Music Festival at 1884 Pigeon Lake Road, Omemee, Ontario. The Summer Lakeshore Music Festival, a Fundraiser for Gamiing Nature Centre EcoGuardian Programs, is a fun, educational experience, where visitors can find out more about a wide range of commercial and non-profit environmental organizations, products and ideas. It's an exciting, informative day for the whole family with numerous exceptional environmental exhibits, fun entertainment, great wild edible food, hiking trails to explore, and games for kids of all ages.Great Regional Performers Include MPP Ric Johnson!

Enjoy a Taste of the Kawarthas!
Gamiing's own chefs de cuisine are preparing picnic lunches using Kawartha's local, organic and wild edible food which can be enjoyed at the performance or anywhere along the trails in the forest. Fruit wines from Kawartha Country Winery and organic beers from local breweries, as well as finger foods, and dinner of wild edibles all from Gamiing's property will also be featured.
Admission to the Summer Lakeshore Music Festival is by donation; all ages are welcome.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt Gamiing Nature Centre Omemee

Saturday April 23 , GAMIING NATURE CENTRE hosts their annual Easter Eco-Egg Hunt. The event is rain or shine, so come prepared for the weather and to have fun! Activities include egg hunt, forest bingo, ( a popular game to play with the family while you take in the sights and sounds of the forest, meadows and wetland). yummy refreshments and even a bake sale .Information booths will be located in the Discovery Shack and in their new Straw bale Hut.
As always, admission is by donation. The proceeds will support their EcoGuardian programs

Gamiing (gaa-minj) Ojibwe, meaning “at the shore“, operates from a 100-acre property with a natural shoreline, surrounded by wetlands, forests and meadows. A Conservation Easement has been placed upon the land and put in Trust with the Kawartha Heritage Conservancy to preserve it in perpetuity as a dynamic natural venue to where the public is invited to relax, reflect and participate in interactive low-impact and zero-impact activities.
