Dave Thomson Plays Omemee Legion Tonight!

Dave Thomson Long Road Home Tour Hits Omemee Legion Tonight!

Dave Thomson, just released his newest CD, A Long Road Home, at Market Hall Peterborough last week, and the tracks are getting rave reviews.
Here is a small sample of the great fun in store for folks tonight at the Omemee Legion. Goin' Home, an up tempo country song.

Dave Thomson Perseverance Brings Dreams to Reality

image Dave Thomson with guitarWhen Dave Thomson, a Christian Country singer, moved to Newfoundland, he wasn't sure what would happen with his music.

'When I left Ontario a few years ago, I figured my music would come to an end,' shared Dave adding,'I am very excited to say my music adventure seems as if it's just beginning.'
Listening to Dave's music, you might think he was born with natural talent. Not so,shares Dave.
'When I was a teen in church choir the instructor could not get me to sing in key' Dave confides with a chuckle, adding'It was pretty bad. At one point during rehearsal, he told me to just move my lips.'
Dave never gave up singing, and his new radio single 'Big Wheel' really shows how his efforts paid off.

You will want to get to the Omemee Legion, King Street East, early this evening to be sure to get a ticket. Doors open at 8pm Tickets for the dance are only $10 each.

Omemee Singer Songwriter Celebrates Birthday!

Happy Birthday Gary!

We won't say how old Gary is today, but if you should see him, be sure to wish him a Happy Birthday! Last night Gary astounded a full house at Omemee Christian Outreach with his guitar skills, and soulful Hank Snow style rendition of three songs including one he wrote himself.

Punch Press Removes Fingers

'I used to play guitar left-handed,' shared Gary with the audience, adding 'A punch press took off the fingers of my right hand at age 17, so I had to relearn to do everything right handed.'

Gary started his set of three songs with Kris Kristofferson's 'Why Me Lord?' Which struck a chord with many gathered there, and brought tears to many an eye. Gary's second song was inspired by an incident a few years ago.
'I went to a church,'Gary explained 'and they told me I didn't belong. I went home and wrote this song.'
Where some might have written a song of retaliation or anger, Gary instead wrote the beseeching 'Can I Walk With You Today?'

The final song in Gary's gospel trilogy had everyone clapping and singing along to his rendition of Hank Snow's 'I Saw the Light'. Gary's talents were a real blessing for the people gathered at the Monday Night dinner. Be sure to check out the featured video on Omemee Pigeon eFlyer, so you too can enjoy more of Gary's musical talents.

I last a while,
You can't conceive,
Of the pleasure in my smile.
You hold my hand,
Rough up my hair,
It's lots of fun,
To have you there."
Neil continues playing as he speaks:
"You know every child is a gift from God, and whether you have a well child, or a hurt child; The National Academy for Child Development can help your children realize their full potential. If we can help you, or of you can help us with a donation; please write or call The National Academy for Child Development."
