Millbrook Spring in The Valley Fun Family Event!

Millbrook Celebrates Spring!

Great fun Spring celebration today in Millbrook Ontario. A CELEBRATION OF SPRING Millbrook Ontario Business Improvement Association presents :Spring in the Valley! Great variety of events on today including Decorate your wheels contest. Kids and the young at heart are invited to Bring their decorated bikes, scooters, wagons, wheelchairs or walkers to compete in the second annual Decorate your Wheels Competition. The parade and judging will start at 11:30 am. There will be four categories: Six years and under, seven to ten, eleven to thirteen and fourteen and over.

Bill Slavin,popular children's author, will be at the Millbrook Legion, between 2:15 and 3:15 during Spring in the Valley, reading, and signing copies of his book, Stanley's Little Sister, and Big City Otto.

Christian Outreach Presents Mike O'Brien: Basic Trust!


Omemee Christian Outreach welcomes international speaker Mike O'Brien tonight with his presentation:Basic Trust.



''Failure to acquire basic trust affects us throughout our adult lives' explains Mike O'Brien of Revelation of Truth Ministries, adding 'lacking basic trust impacts our ability to relate to God and others.'


Human growth requires certain accomplishments. In tonight's lesson, Mike will discuss the stages of development each of us must go through, without which the succeeding lessons in life cannot be well learned.

Omemee Christian Outreach Encourages Church Attendance


Omemee Christian Outreach is an all denominational group of Christians working together to show the love of Christ meeting on Monday evenings and encouraging everyone to attend their local church services. If you have literature or announcements about your church activities, please be sure to bring them along to share with others. Omemee Christian Outreach works with numerous pastors and outreaches. Currently, Omemee Christian Outreach is collecting shoes and children's clothing for the children of the Philippines who have to scavenge in the dumps for food.

Omemee Christian Outreach free family BBQ doors open at 6pm at Christ Anglican Church King Street Omemee, Dinner begins at 6:30 Followed by music, then Speakers, while children take part in craft and activity time. A free will offering is collected to help with Outreach programs.

Dunsford “Craft & Storytime” will be held at the City of Kawartha Lakes Public Library Dunsford branch at 26 Community Centre Road, Saturday, February 11th, at 10 am. This popular Free Family activity is a welcome break for many families in our area. Dunsford Library is open:
• Tuesday 2:30 pm to 7:30 pm
• Wednesday 10:00 am to 1:00 pm
• Saturday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

Dunsford Library is located in the Dunsford Community Centre at 26 Community Centre Road, Dunsford; just enter the front door by the library sign - the library door is on the right when you go in. All are welcome at City of Kawartha Lakes Library branches, and residents can get a free library card with proof of their address.

'The Holy Spirit is the promise to us by the Father.' shared teacher Mike O'Brien of Revelation of Truth Ministries, adding,'The Holy Spirit is not an it; He is a person.The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Holy Trinity.'

Healed of Cancer Mike Shares The Word


Mike O'Brien, has travelled the world sharing the gospel on TV, in prisons, and churches. Now, three years after God totally healed Mike of cancer, his passion is greater than ever. Mike's mission is to see revival of truth in the body of Christ,and that we as Christians would know 'His' voice. Mike will be sharing God given truths and Revelations as key note speaker, for six weeks Monday evenings 6:30 p.m. at the Omemee Christian Outreach Dinners, Christ Church Anglican King Street, Omemee.
Mike's third presentation is a continuation on his discussion of The Holy Spirit which focussed on the four types of spiritual languages given by the HOLY SPIRIT

Free Dinner, Live Music,Children's Crafts


Omemee Christian Outreach offers. delicious free dinner each Monday evening.Doors open at 6pm, dinner starts at 6:30 pm, followed by musicians sharing their ministry of praise. There is a children's craft time while the adults get to enjoy educational speakers on a wide variety of Christian topics. A free will offering is collected.

Free Library eReader Workshops!

City of Kawartha Lakes Public Library introduced new free eBook and audio book downloads,and is offering free introductory e-reader workshops at most City library branches in January 2012. Although the new digital downloads can be enjoyed on most home computers,an eReader lets you take your book with you. The Library workshops provide group instruction, and an opportunity to experience several types of e-book readers. Here are the workshops for our rural area.

Free January e-Reader Workshops Scheduled

  • Bethany Branch (705 - 277 - 2321) – January 10th from 3:00pm to 6:00pm
  • Dunsford (705 - 793 - 3037) – January 18th from 10:00am to 1:00pm
  • Omemee (705 - 799 - 5711) – January 14th from 12:30pm to 2:00pm

Residents are asked to please contact their local library branch to register for a workshop.

Great Saturday Rural Library Fun For All!

Saturday,October 22nd,rural libraries will be the place to be! Free fun programs will be offered at three of the rural libraries in our area, Please remember to bring a donation for the food bank. Food for Fines special program is on at all City of Kawartha Lakes and Cavan-Monaghan Libraries this week. It’s a great way to wipe the slate clean, and contribute to a worthwhile cause!

Mark This! Ward 15 Town Hall Meeting!

Omemee Updates Include OBCIA,Community Sign, Sewage Plan and More!

Councillor Gerald McGregor will be hosting a Ward 15 Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, October 26 from 7-9pm at Coronation Hall, 1 King Street West, Omemee. All welcome!

Updates will be given on Omemee Legacy CHEST Fund, Omemee Medical Centre Expansion, Trinity United Church Community Sign, OBCIA, Murdoch Development (Regal Property), Fleming College Project (at sewage site). City staff will provide information on the Omemee Sewage Project and the Omemee Secondary Plan.

All are welcome.

Omemee Christian Fellowship welcomes all guests age 12 and up to an evening of Multi-denominational, music, prayer and healing, from 7 to 9 pm at Coronation Hall, 1 King Street West, Omemee,Ontario. Ministers, and pastors of many churches will be attending.

Keynote Speaker George Jenkins,was the first person to be ordained as a minister,while in prison. George travels the world spreading the good news George Jenkins flows with Gifts of healing. George had three strokes and a heart attack,and obtained miraculous healing. Come hear his amazing story.

Musical Guests Friends of Jesus Trio

Special Musical Guests for the evening,Friends of Jesus Trio,will add their musical gifts to the evening With uplifting music, raising their voices in song.

October 17 - 'Let's Be Thankful - All welcome to join in the potluck,starting at 6pm, then enjoy the a slide show with Erika Thimm -following their Pot Luck Supper at Christ Church Anglican.All welcome!

Erike Thimm Noted Conservationist

Erike Thimm, president of Friends of Cullen Central Park,works with concerned residents and the Town of Whitby to preserve the property formerly known as Cullen Gardens. Friends of Cullen Central Park maintain the native Ontario Wildflower Park,provide information about the importance of green space and natural habitat, and  research ideas as to how the property may be optimized,while seeking out possible funding to put the ideas into action.
Bring your favourite dish as well as plate, cutlery and mug for yourself. Speaker Erike Thimm will talk about "Things to be Thankful for". All are welcome.

Omemee and District Horticultural Society saw an example of Erika's photography when she last visited.. This time she is going to entertain and wow us with her presentation of photography put to music.
What a great way to end the annual Pot Luck Supper.
