In our attempts to make it easier for people to find venues, and businesses in our rural area, Omemee Pigeon eFlyer has become one of the top contributors to Google Canadian maps.  We’d like to share the letter we received with our readers:

Hi Google Map Maker!

We’re with the Google Map Maker community team and wanted to introduce ourselves to you. You’re one of the top mappers in Canada since last month’s Google Map Maker launch for Canadian editing, and we’re dedicated to supporting avid mapping users like you.

We’d be delighted to send you a gift from Google Map Maker based on the great mapping you’re doing!

Also, we’d love to find out more about your interest in mapping.  Could you take just a moment to fill out this very brief form, sharing with us what excites you about mapping?

Finally, we warmly welcome you to join the North American Map Maker forum to interact with other mappers working on the North American region. We also recommend you visit the Map Maker Community, learn more about the application and introduce yourself to other members.

Mount Horeb United Church Garden Party - Great Annual Ham and Salad Supper!

Mount Horeb United Church Dishing Delicious Dinners!

Mount Horeb United Church’s Annual Ham and Salad Supper, draws diners to dinner, like bees to honey. Mount Horeb United Church will be dishing up a delicious traditional Ham and Salad  dinner, June 1st, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mount Horeb United Church is just a short jaunt down the  road west of Omemee, at 117 Hillhead Road,a bit north of  Mount Horeb Road in Reaboro, Ontario

Mount Horeb United Church has been serving up delicious church dinners for as long as anyone can remember. Early settlers in Mount Horeb held services in a log house until the church was built and dedicated in 1861. In 1894 the church was remodeled into the structure they have today.
It is not hard to imagine that early pioneer brothers, Peter and Donald Fisher, would hve enjoyed tucking into some of the local fare in the early years of Mount Horeb church dinners. Use the handy map below to get you to the church on time!

Greater Omemee Area Green Thumb Growers Guide

Looking for plants? Tips and Giveaway for Local Businesses

Greater Omemee Area is blessed with great green thumb services and know how! Unfortunately, much local expertise is hidden. Minute to Market. a local economical web solutions company, offers  tips and a Giveaway to help change this blink.

Current Search Results Disappointing

A search for plants Omemee on Google Maps, turns up a myriad of choices, some as far away as Stouffville. Minute to Market combed through seven pages of Google Maps search results to seek out gardening services in the Omemee area, and were disappointed not to find such poor results. At this point, only three  talented Green Thumbs are showing up in the Google maps search for plants Omemee, as shown in the screen shot of the map below.

Omemee Trestle Bridge Gives Amazing Vista

The following video by a cyclist on the Trestle Bridge shows the amazing vista that can be seen from the Trestle Bridge on the rail trail.

The route from Jackson Park to Omemee is described as an easy 20 km ride along a limestone trail surface. It is also noted that food is available in Omemee. For people familiar with Omemee, this may seem the understatement of the year.In addition to the Omemee Foodland grocery store with onsite bakery, Omemee may actually have more restaurants and coffee shops per capita than other communities in the area. People love to visit Omemee’s eateries. and we have great food.
